1. THE MARK OF THE BEAST — 1954-05-13

• ¶37–¶41 And that’s the way God does us. You have to get down to the altar and get hog-tied, once in a while. But, brother, when the Holy Spirit ever puts a brand on you, you may do some running and screaming, but you’re marked. That’s right. You’re there. When the Boss comes by, He knows where you belong. But, oh, to that stray yearling, that fellow that’s condemned to be turned back in among the—the rustics. Now, the branding time. And now there’s only going to be two riders in this, that’s going to be God and Satan. Satan will take his, and God will take His. Tonight we’re going to see who is wearing Satan’s brand, and tomorrow night we’re going to see who is wearing God’s brand, according to the Word of God. Now here is the angel’s message, the 9th verse of the 14th chapter. Read a couple of these Scriptures here, I got written out. “And the angel…” And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or…hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and…shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Sure don’t want nothing to do with that! Look. I don’t want nothing to do with that, I’m sure. Yeah. Listen to the next verse, while I’m looking at it. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and have faith in Jesus Christ.

• ¶42–¶44 Now the 15th chapter, and the 2nd verse. And the…Listen now, in the 15th chapter and the 2nd verse. Now, we was reading then from the 14th, and the 9th verse. Now the 15th, and the 2nd verse. And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome…grievous sores upon…men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worship his image. The 16th chapter and the 2nd verse. And with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of the wrath of the fornication. Just a minute. I beg your pardon. I turned, must turned two of them at once. All right. Now the 20th chapter and the 4th verse. All right, here we are. And I saw thrones, and them that sat there upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them which were beheaded for the witness of Jesus Christ, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received the mark upon their foreheads, or in their hand; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Can’t receive the mark of the beast and then worship Christ or be with Him. “But whosoever shall worship the beast or the image of the beast, will be tormented in the presence of God and in the presence of the holy angels.” That’s what the Lord says about it.

• ¶119–¶123 Fellow said, other day, said, “You’re not a…You, you’re just a non-Catholic. You’re…” I said, “No, brother. I’m a Protestant. I protest the thing.” That’s right. As a minister of the Gospel, with the children of God as my candidates here, for Heaven, and I’m to preach for them and sit before them as a teacher with signs and wonders, I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t stand for what was true. I said, “Yes, sir. I’ll stand, if it kills me. I’m going to. I—I’ll just teach what’s the Bible.” And I’m willing, at any time, to discuss It with anyone, see; let him be pope of Rome, or archbishop, or whatever he is. See? Yes, sir. That’s right. If I’m wrong, come show me. Now, I’m not wrong, ’cause I’m quoting the Scripture. You…I won’t take your textbook. This is the text Book, right here. Now, then, you notice, they begin to come out with all this formal. Now, in the last days, there is coming a persecution. Now we’re, about, Revelations the 13th chapter now, to begin with. Now if you’ll notice, on down in the chapter here, said, “I looked, and lo, a Lamb stood upon the mount Sinai…” No, I beg your pardon, I’m in the wrong verse, the wrong chapter, the 14th. 13th chapter: …I stood upon the sands of the sea, and saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon the horns ten crowns, and upon—upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

• ¶263–¶267 Watch now, you’re coming into the powers of communism. …these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. Hallelujah! “Heavens and earth will pass away, but God’s Word will never pass.” Look! …the woman which thou sawest… …the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Show me one city in the world that’s reigning over the kings of the earth, out of any way that you want to, outside of the Catholic hierarchy in Rome, sitting on seven hills. Not one city, and never was, and never will be; outside of the New City that come from Heaven. That’s right. Now, just a minute. I want to show you this again, so the Lord be mindful and bless us together as we read this. All right. Watch here now, I’m reading the 13th chapter. I’m beginning at the 15th verse. And he had power to give life unto the image… That’s in the United States, which we seen come up, you see, an image. …that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many that would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. (That’s the boycott.) And he caused all, both small and great, rich and poor, bond and free, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreman…-head. And that no man might buy nor sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

• ¶268–¶273a Now watch, now, close now, real close, ’fore we close. The 18th verse. Listen. Here is wisdom. See the Holy Spirit calling back to the believers in the last day? That little group there, speaking, calling to the little group in this day, “Here is to him that has wisdom in the church. Let him understand this.” …Let him that has understanding count the numbers of the beast: for it’s the number of a man, (not a nation) a man; and his number is Six hundred three score and six. And right up over the Vatican City…Don’t tell me now; I’ve got Facts Of Our Faith, and all, see. Up over the Vatican City, and the pope stands as “the vicar of the Son of God.” I got Catholic friends sitting They called Saint Patrick a Catholic, and he never was a Catholic. Said Joan of Arc was a saint; and the priests burnt her as a witch. No wonder Jesus said, “You whiten the sepulchers of the prophets, and you put them in there, you whited walls.” That’s right. Watch, it’s the number of a man. And up over the pope of Rome, it’s wrote, “VICARIVS FILII DEI.” It’s wrote in Roman letters. Just write it out yourself, tomorrow. V, I, C, I, R, oh, just keep it out, in Roman letters, and draw your line and add it up, and see what you got: six hundred and sixty-six. Where is he sitting? “On seven hills.” And out of there come the organization of religion, that taught dogma instead of the Bible. And the Protestants burst out of it, and are doing just the same thing they are, ’cause It said she was a “WHORE,” and they were “HARLOTS.” Bring out with a false baptism, with a false religion, with a false conception of the Holy Ghost, with a false conception of hell, and all these things like that, and the Protestants following right down in the footsteps. But it’ll be Light in the evening time, The path of Glory you will surely find; (That’s right.) …way, is the Light today, Buried in the precious Name of Jesus.

And I beheld a beast coming up out of the earth;…he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exercised all the power of the first beast before him, and caused the earth and them that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he does great wonders, so as…make fire come down from heaven on…earth in the sight of men, And deceived them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image unto the beast, which had the wound by the sword, and did live. And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause…as many as would…worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he caused all, both small…great, rich…poor, free… bound, to receive a mark, in their right hand, and in their forehead: And…no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. • ¶14b–¶15 And I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation,…kindred,…tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heavens, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water. And there followed him another angel, saying, Babylon is falling, is falling, the great city, because it made all nations to drink from the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast, or his image, or receive his mark in their forehead, or…hand, The same shall drink of the…wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of…indignation; and…shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Now, this great subject that we are approaching, has certainly caused some great controversy, and some pro and con, on the—on the subject. And I, for myself, believe that it’s such a great, vital part of the Scripture. That, all the Scripture should be taught, all of It. We should not leave any of It out. And God has spoke through the Scriptures, about the mark of the beast, and how that it was to appear in the last days. And as a minister of the Gospel, believing that we’re living in the last day, I believe that it’s a timely Message that should be approached reverently in this day.

• ¶209–¶211 And now, upon the sovereign grace of God, upon the witness of the Holy Ghost, and upon the vindication of a worldwide ministry that You have granted to Your unprofitable servant, as an unworthy person, and one who is unable, but a believer, I now challenge this mute spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. And with a sincere heart, I say, come out of the man. For I adjure thee, by the living God, that you depart from him that he’ll be well. In Christ’s Name, I challenge thee to come out of the man, through the Blood of the Lord Jesus. Every eye closed, every head bowed. [Brother Branham claps his hands—Ed.] Hear me? Hear me? You hear me? He’s hearing. Now just keep your head bowed. Say, “Praise God.” [The brother says, “Praise God.”—Ed.] Say, “I love Jesus.” [“I love Jesus.”] “Praise God.” [“Praise God.”] Now, you can raise your head. [The brother says, “Raise head.”—Ed.] Raise your head now. “Praise the Lord.” [The brother says, “Praise the Lord.”—Ed.] “I love Jesus.” [“I love Jesus.”] “Hallelujah!” [“Hallelujah!”] Let us say, “Praise the Lord.” [Congregation says, “Praise the Lord.”—Ed.] Let’s give God praise. Let’s stand up to our feet just a minute. Almighty God, Author of Everlasting Life, Giver of every good gift, send Thy blessings upon this children. I pray that You’ll anoint them. Give them the desire of their hearts by filling them with the Holy Ghost. Great signs and wonders might be done for the glory of God, through Jesus’ Name. Amen. Now, you be seated. That’s good. Now, what happened? The deaf and dumb spirit left him. Now, he’s beginning to talk like a baby, hear like a baby, to understand like a baby. The spirit that had him gripped has left him. Now, see that he keeps on doing it. See? Don’t let unbelief settle down no more. Let it go on. Amen. And be well. Amen. Oh, you ought to see his face, how he’s smiling, and looking this way. Play the music, Sister Gertie. Hear it? Wait. Yeah. He’s talking to me. Amen. Let’s say, “Praise the Lord.” Everybody. [Congregation says, “Praise the Lord.”—Ed.] Jesus lives and reigns, doesn’t He? Let’s say, “I believe.” “I believe.” I love Jesus. “I love Jesus.” Praise the Lord! “Praise the Lord!” Let us bow our heads just moment, now. How wonderful, how glorious! How tedious, how tasteless the hour, When Jesus, no longer I see! Sweet prospects, sweet music, sweet flowers, Have all lost their beauty to me. The fields strive in vain to look gay; But when I am happy in Him December’s as pleasant as May. How wonderful! O God, how we love You, and worship You. How we praise You. How matchless You are, how good, how full of mercy. Let’s just raise our hands real slowly, now, up to Him and worship Him just a moment. I remember one time Paul Rader…How many ever knowed him? Sure, Paul Rader was a great man of God. Told a little story one time, said he was going on a train, and said he was with another man, and said this man tried to get back at him ’cause he slept in a pullman that night. Said at the breakfast next morning, a group of ministers was going somewhere for a convention, said this man set right next to Paul, and said, “Well, praise God.” He said, “Ahem! I set in a chair car last night,” and said, “I saved the Lord some money.” AND THE SEAL OF GOD 1

• ¶38–¶42 Now, it’s a great subject, and I think that it is a…and one of a… an essential subject that should be taught on. Now, we’ve had Gospel sermons, we’ve had Divine healing. And now, this ought to be the… on based, like, the second Coming of Christ, on His second Coming. Brother Smith, is that your wife? Well I…How do you do, Sister Smith? I—I…No wonder he’s a—he’s a fine man, you’re such a fine- looking, godly-looking, little lady as a wife. I—I may have met you before. They say behind every good man there’s a good wife. That— that’s very fine. I know my wife is…If there’s any credit to go to the Branham family, give it to her, because she’s the one that…But she’s ten years younger than I am and snow-white headed, and she’s, just because that she’s stood between me and the public, and I don’t know what I would do without her. God certainly gave me a wonderful wife. They’re a wonderful thing, Brother Smith. Just, why, if He could give a man anything better, He would have done it. That’s right. Right. That’s right. That’s the truth. “He who has found a wife, has found a good thing,” says the wisest man we’ve ever had. I—I think that a wife is the best thing a man can have outside of salvation. That’s right, that’s right, she’s lovely. Now, I’m going to base the Scripture…First I’m going to tell you what I think the mark of the beast is, and what the, I think the Scripture supports the mark of the beast to be, then I’m going to tell you what I think the Scripture supports the Seal of God.

• ¶174–¶177 Not saying, “Well, I’ll go at the Assemblies, if they don’t treat me right, I’ll go at the Foursquare.” Oh, you carboned up, you’re smoking your light. Trim your lamp! Get ready, we’re at the end time. But they will, somebody will preach it, somebody will tell it, somewhere there’ll be some of them that’ll get it. That’s right. I don’t know how many, ’cause He said, “As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the coming of the Son of man, wherein eight souls was saved.” But I don’t know how many will get it, but there’ll be some of them will trim their lamp, that’s all there is to it, for lamp trimming time is on. And when the—when the sleeping virgin went out, which had already received the mark of the beast… You say, “Mark of the beast, that?” Yes, indeedy. So did Cain receive the mark and went out. What was it? When the Baptist church, when the Pentecostal church, when the Presbyterian church, took on the mark of the beast instead of receiving the Holy Ghost, they went out from God, and made them an organization. What did they do? Took them a false wife, a false wife of the world, brought in painted-up Jezebels, and everything else, with short hair, and wearing shorts, and skirts, and, of a Hollywood fashion, AND THE SEAL OF GOD 1 25 and preachers got out to taking them in with deacons with two or three wives. And—and a man… You say, “You’re always talking on our women, about our women.”

• ¶226–¶230 Will you…? Is there another will raise their hand before we have prayer? God bless you, honey. Would be another one? Raise your hand, say, “I—I, upon the basis of the shed Blood, what Jesus did for me… And Brother Branham, what I’ve heard you say tonight, I don’t believe that you’d tell us anything wrong, I certainly believe that you’re God’s servant. And upon the message that ‘Your faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God…’” We get into that so sweetly tomorrow night, on finishing up the baptism of the Holy Ghost and the mark of the beast. Will you raise your hand? Say, “Upon the basis of the shed Blood of Christ, I raise my hand to Him, saying, ‘I want You to be my Saviour right now.’” Is there any more, before we pray? God bless you, young lady, back there, that’s very fine. God be with you, my sister. Would there be another? God bless you, my sister, setting right here, that’s very fine. Would there be another? Way back in the back, God bless you, my brother, that’s just makes the difference between death and life. Now, what, you that raised your hand, what if tonight was your last night on earth? And if sometime between now and daylight, you’d happen to wake up in your sleep, and your heart stopping, your—your veins are cooling off, your hands getting cold, you’re pressing a—a pillow as you’re dying, the doctor walks away from the door said, “No, it’s a heart attack, they’re gone,” see, nothing…you heard him say that? Won’t it be wonderful when you know that you raised your hand? Oh, how sweet! How glad you’ll be!

4. BROKEN CISTERNS — 1964-07-26

• ¶41–¶46 “Now,” you say, “Brother Branham, why do you strike at those people so hard?” It ought to be struck at. It’s got to be struck at. Flee it, because it will finally form the mark of the beast. Remember, that is the Truth! It will be the mark of the beast. Denomination will lead right to it. It’s on its road right there now, to force, by a power. Look in the old Roman empire. That’s exactly what led them to that mark of an apostasy. You found out that no man could buy or sell without the mark of the beast. He had to have it. There is only two classes of people will be on the earth: those with the Seal of God, and those with the mark of the beast. Only two classes, so you’ll have to have one or the other. It’ll be an apostasy, a—a mark of—of religion, apostate religion. And it’s going to have a image unto the beast. As we study, we find out that Rome was, is, and always will be, the mar-…or, the beast. Exactly. There is no way to get it anything else. Rome! And what did Rome do? Was converted from pagan Rome unto papal Rome, and organized a system, a universal system, that forced everybody to that one religion or be put to death. And it’s a strange thing that this United States appears on the scene, and it’s like a lamb. And a lamb has two small horns, civil and ecclesiastical rights. And after a while, when that was a lamb, we found out that it spoke then like a dragon and exercised all the power the dragon had before it. And the Bible tells us that they said, “Let us make a image unto the beast.” An image is something like something else. And we can see it right now that, in its apostate condition, the church is forming the World Council of Churches, which is the image to the power of Rome; and will force upon the people the same thing that pagan Rome did…or papal Rome did. So, there is no other way, no other thing. But that is the Truth.

• ¶51–¶53 I wonder if there is any of the old-timers still left in the tabernacle, remember me saying that in the Redman’s Hall down here when we preached, many, many years ago. Is there one in the building, tonight, that’s left from down there at the old Redman’s Hall when I preached that, when they had the N.R.A. out, way back in time of Roosevelt’s first term? I guess there is not a one in here. Is there one? Yeah, yeah, one, there is one. Yes, Mrs. Wilson, I remember her. My wife, setting in the back. Two left, out of the old generation of those in that day. That, when they said this N.R.A. was the mark of the beast, I said, “Nothing to it; not at all. The mark of the beast don’t come here. It comes out of Rome. And it can’t be the mark of the beast.” And now remember that these things was said. Said, “Adolf Hitler would come to a mysterious end. And he would declare war on the United States. And they would build a great—a—a great concrete thing, that they’d even live in it. And right there the Americans would take a horrible beating, at this.” And it was the Siegfried line, eleven years before it was ever started to be built. And then said, “But he would come to an end; and the States would win the war.” And then said, that, “There is three isms: Nazism, fascism, and communism.” And I said, “They’ll all wind up in communism. Russia will take it all, in communism.”

5. WHAT SHALL I DO WITH JESUS CALLED CHRIST? — 1963-11-24

• ¶88–¶91 They think it’s tradition. They think that their traditions is of God. See? But it won’t stand up with the Word, and neither does God vindicate it to be right. Jesus stood up with the Word, but not with their council; but with the Word. And the Word proved that He was God. And It proves today that It’s God, because It lives the same Life, It does the same thing among us that It did back there, and predicted. So what do they do? They accept something that…They have accepted, already, the very system that’ll crucify That. And the crucifixion of free interdenominational is at hand. That’s right. Now, that doesn’t contrary the Scriptures. It’s with the Scriptures. “And they formed a image unto the beast.” Uniting the world denominations in one Protestant, forming the mark of the beast, the image of the beast, according to Revelation 13:8. “And they made an image unto the beast.” The beast is “Rome.” We all know that. But always it’s been Rome, all…How can it be—how can it be Russia, when the Bible says Rome? See, the people just get the wrong impression. See? How can it be some other thing, when it’s predicted it has to come out of Rome? Go back to Daniel again, the iron and clay in the feet; the iron never ceased, from the knees down to the end. And anyone knows that Russia wasn’t even known of then. It was Rome. The red dragon was Rome. It’s always Rome. And that iron never changed to something else, from Rome to something else; it remained Rome. And the beast is Rome!

• ¶121–¶123 Notice there when this world council comes together, “What will we do with this Jesus called Christ?” They certainly don’t want nothing to do with It. So there is only one thing to do, then, exactly what they did then, they’ll crucify It, certainly, shut It up. “It can’t be no more. It won’t be allowed to do it.” The force of the religion of the nations won’t let them do it no more. Such ministry that goes on here, and things like that, will be absolutely closed out. You can’t do without a sanction from the headquarters, the head of the church, see, a image unto the beast. Oh! We’re here, that’s all. We—we—we’ve arrived. And truly vindicated; next move is to crucify Him. Same as now, causing all who don’t join with them, will be shut out and not be allowed to preach, you see. That crucifies, afresh, the vindicated Word of promise. Stops it, “You’re not allowed to have it no more. No more healing services. No more prayer for the sick. No, sir! You can’t do it. No, none of this other. No, sir! You’ll come through the Council of Churches or you don’t have it at all.” Now you can see why I’m against denomination religion, because it is the mark of the beast. Rome is the head of it, the first one. That’s exactly right. And it causes all to take it by joining the daughters, that is the image. The mother of it made the same thing. Where was Rome first organized? What was the first organized religion in the world? The Roman Catholic. Anybody got a word that says it isn’t so, just let me hear it. It’s not here. The first organization, the first church was ever organized, was at Nicaea, Rome. Yes, sir. And that’s exactly what they did.

6. BLASPHEMOUS NAMES — 1962-11-04

• ¶40–¶42 And we hope to get the church up, so I can get these Church Ages in, before—before the winter sets in, if possible. If I don’t, or when I have to come back from over there, if the Lord Jesus tarries. I was listening yesterday when I was taking, believe it was day before yesterday, of a tape. I thought I heard it playing out here this morning. Some little Southern brother had…His mother had come into the meeting. She had a malignancy on her breast, and she was shadowed to death. And the Holy Spirit, in one of the recent meetings, at the Southern Pines, I believe it was, or somewhere, told her, said about her malignancy, and who she was, and where she come from. And said she had a boy that was a backslider, and he was going to have an accident, and be for manslaughter. And a whole lot of things like that. And this fellow… It all happened just the way. And her malignant cancer, or malignant growth, rather, left her. Which is, malignant growth is a cancer, you know. So then it—it left her. And the boy was up for manslaughter, and everything just the way the Holy Spirit said it. And he was led to Christ, back again. And he made a tape of it, and I—I heard it playing. Did you enjoy that little, old Southern talk? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] Said, “Down here in North Carolin’er,” he said. Oh, I just love that, them old Southern people. And he had…The Lord just blessed him on. He said, “I know you say you don’t preach doctrine, Brother Branham; only to your congregation.” Said, “We’re part of your congregation.” So that was right cute in him, to say that.

• ¶298–¶302 Directly, I noticed the people begin to get like they was physically hungry. And so they had enough spiritual, so they started walking away. And some of them [Brother Branham yawns—Ed.] started walking away. I thought, “What’s the matter with everybody?” And—and I looked, and here some young couples going along, to my side. I thought…I said, “Just a minute, friend! Just a minute! You’ll be back again when the evening shadows fall.” See? I said, “You’ll be back again. But let me give you this first climax. Where does all these things come from, that I’ve showed you? Where are they from?” I said, “Here they are. They are in the Word of God. They are THUS SAITH THE LORD, His promise. Cause,” I said, “all of you bear me record, witness this, that my commission is, ‘Stay with the Word.’” I said, “What’s the matter with all of you? Can’t you understand the Word? You must understand It.” And some of them said, “Man, I’d like to have some biscuits,” and so like that. Well, I just thought, “Well, glory to God! If they want biscuits, let them go get them.” So I—I turned around. I thought, “Oh, but, you know what? The shadows is going to fall, after while, right away.” I said, “Then, tonight, when that congregation gathers in again, I’ll put the climax to them, and told them that the things that they have seen me do is found in the Word of God, not in some mythical book or some organization. It’s found in the Word. See? Every bit of it, in the Word, ’cause I’m commissioned to That.”

7. THE WORLD IS AGAIN FALLING APART — 1963-11-27

If the Catholic is right, which Catholic? If the Greek Catholic is right, then the Roman is wrong. If the Roman is right, the Greek’s wrong. So, you see, if the Methodist is right, the Baptist is wrong. If the Baptist is right, the—the Pentecostal is wrong. If the Pentecostal is right, then the Presbyterian is wrong. See? So you would be all so confused. But God hasn’t left us without any witness or any—any—any standard that we should stand by. That’s this Word! He said, “Let every man’s word be a lie, and Mine be the Truth.” That’s right. For, “Both heavens and earth will pass away.” We’re told here, that, “We receive a Kingdom that cannot be moved.” Yes, sir. When all these worldly kingdoms are falling now, and the whole world falling apart, yet we are baptized into a Kingdom that cannot be moved. Amen. We receive a Kingdom. So, when the world falls apart, we are borned into this Kingdom that cannot fall apart. It’s God’s Eternal Word, and we stand on that. It can never fall apart. We so hear so much about this new system going to bring, the religious system, you know, going to bring peace upon the earth, when the Catholic and all the Protestants unite together. Some of them believe in Divine healing, some don’t believe, and some believe this, and some believe that. And you have to forfeit your big fuss you been fussing about all the time, your evangelical belief, to get into the World Council. And every denomination will have to come in there. So, if denomination is cursed, and to belong into it, what does it do? It throws you right back. If Rome is the mother of denomination, and she is the beast and the mark of the beast, then they made an image unto it, council, the churches all together make an image to the beast, so right straight back to the mark of the beast again! The system of the world, denominationalism, has brought up a system to bring the mark of the beast.

• ¶158–¶161 And you see it as well as I see it, that right now it’s going to be forced, that, all that’s not in that already set in order, the big machine sitting there; the mechanics is there waiting for Satan to get into it, with the dynamics. See? And, when it does, no man can preach the Gospel, no man, without belonging to this system. There is the mark of the beast. And remember, at that time, the Bride is gone, so you see how close it is. All right, so you see where we’re at. You can see what: this great slump, these things they’re going on about. “Oh, wake, ye saints of the Lord, why slumber when the end is nearing?” Why do you do it? Sometime you sin away your day of grace. Don’t you never do that. Yes, sir. Now, this system will not bring about a world peace. If that will bring about a world peace, what happened to the Prince of Peace that was the Word? It’s antichrist in its teaching. It’s against exactly what God stood for, what He told us. “These signs shall follow them that believe,” they believe that’s nonsense. Acts 2:38 is another thing, to them, they know nothing about. All the Word, and so forth, they know nothing about That, and they deny It. Fulfills exactly what the prophet said in Second Timothy, the 3rd chapter, “They’d be heady, highminded, having a form of godliness, and would deny the Power thereof, in the last days.” That denominational system is the mark of the beast. You’ve knowed. If you never heard me say it before, that’s the reason I’ve racked it so hard. Because now I think the time is just about finished, so might as well let it come forth and tell the Truth about it. There she is. That’s the marking of the beast, exactly. Rome was the beast, and she was denomination, the first organization.

Cattle will actually go on the smooth road, the denomination, if they can; which, the road represented denomination. I started him back up the road, to see that they did not go to any denomination.

Let him say one word, that’s what it is. Just like they said over here, “Who…” We get into it later. “Who is able to make war with the beast? Who can speak like him? Who can do it? Then, let us make an image unto the beast.” That’s the Now notice in here, at the end of this age. Now, Daniel, in the 2nd chapter, and the 34th and 35th verse—verse, he watched this image with great consideration. And he watched it until a Stone was cut out of the mountain, without hands, and It rolled down and smote the image in the feet, and broke that. Now, It never hit it on the head, now. Hit it in the feet; that was the end time, them ten toes.

• ¶179–¶183 “Over-spreading of the abomination.” If it was the abomination in Jesus’ time, when Rome had come over there with their propaganda, it’ll be Rome again, it’ll be abomination again to the church. …to make desolate, and shall continue unto the consummation… What will he do? Now, Jewish, and Romanism, Protestantism (that is, the sleeping virgin), shall consolidate themselves together in the form of the federation of churches. Now, we know, beyond any shadow of doubt, who that beast was, that power that had the deadly wound that did live. It was when pagan Rome was killed, and papal Rome took its place; when pagan power was killed, and papal power took its place. Now, now, Revelations 13:14. Jesus, in Matthew 24, warned them of it. “An image unto the beast.” Paul, in Second Thessalonians the 2nd chapter, 3rd and 4th verse. Let’s get it, see Paul, what he says here about it. That great Holy Spirit on this great prophet of the Lord, see what he said about it in the last day. In Second Thessalonians, the 2nd chapter is what it is. All right, sir. And begin with the 3rd verse, I believe it is. All right, let’s read now. Listen close, everybody. How many believes that Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit? Amen. Watch here. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,… He’s trying to get it out of their head that He’s coming right then. Said, “There’s got to be a falling away from the Church, first,” see, come over in this Laodicean Age. …and that man of sin be revealed,…

And up over there it’s Vicarivs Filii Dei, which means “a vicar of the Son of God.” Dei, Dei, “Deity,” see. See, “The vicar of the Son of God.” In other words, “Just like the Son of God sitting here on earth,” see, “all powers to change the Bible,” change anything he wants to. Therefore, “Say ‘Hail Mary’!” What does the pope say? “We’ll have ‘Hail Mary’!” That settles it. Uh-huh, uh- hum. “Well, we’ll do so-and-so.” What the pope says, that’s it, that’s it.

God organized Communism just the same as He did King Nebuchadnezzar to—to chastise Israel. He raised up communism, and someday she’ll blow Rome plumb off the map. But don’t you pay so much attention to that Iron Curtain, but watch that purple curtain. Read the Foxe’s Book of Martyrs and you’ll see this, that right.

The Bible said, “He would sit in the temple of God, showing that he is God.” And how he would wear a triple crown, and all these things that he would do, “The vicar of—of heaven, earth, and purgatory.” And under this would be an—an image to him, where all the rest of them would unite together. But the Church of the living God will be united under the power of God and the supervision of the Holy Spirit. God’s Church shall be united. Oh, aren’t you glad? In this dark hour, when everything shutting off, people are not caring. They don’t. Seemed like their hearts are getting farther and farther away from God. The world is getting colder and colder, and indifferent, because these great ecclesiastical heads are forming up.

That was pure French.” And a man over here got up and said, “That’s right.” And way back in the back was the interpreter for the UN, give his name, never been there before. He said, “Correctly. The latter rain is fixing to come forth. Remember, there will be such a denominational gathering pretty soon, it’ll be terrific, and they will bring themselves together into this Federation of Churches. And then this kind of a church will be put out of operation, as far as they know. It’s at that time, that Jesus will appear, and He will show which is Bride and which is not. And remember, Christian friends, I’m a man, I can make mistakes. But God, being God, cannot make a mistake. All the Words that’s been written must be fulfilled. Jesus said so. So we’ve got things here in the Scripture that must be fulfilled, and that is one of the things, this boycott to come. But before this boycott can come, of the marking of the beast, there has to be a Seed sowed, for God to take a Church out of it. You understand now? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] A Seed has to be sowed. A denominational seed, and they’re to make a form or an image to the beast, the church of Rome. And there has to be a true Bride. And we understand that the so-called bride is rejected.

20. TRYING TO DO GOD A SERVICE WITHOUT BEING THE WILL OF GOD — 1965-07-18

And a man that, I didn’t know, sometimes you plant seed, you don’t know what’s going to happen, but the president of the Full Gospel Business Men, as soon as the great speaker set down, he said, “I am prone not to say things against our speakers, but that ain’t the way Brother Branham said would happen. But he said that would lead to the mark of the beast.” He said, “But Brother Branham don’t know what he’s talking about.” Said, “We are…believe he does.” See? And in Chicago, said, “How many here would like for me to come up and give my version of it?” Begin screaming and shouting. See, you’re planting seeds; you don’t know what’s going to happen. Just keep laying out the Seed. When that hour comes, some of them is… Like Thomas, he was about the last one to see the Lord. But, he had to see Him, to believe Him. See, when they see it happen. Oh, Thomas come in, but he was a little late.

Hallelujah! When we see all the eastern, middle eastern powers, when we see the eastern and western world again uniting, see them two feet in Daniel’s vision. See? It’s just repeating again, and it’s a revival of the old Roman Empire coming up, as certain as I’m standing here. It’s true. It’s time for Daniels to rise. It’s time for people, who will purpose in their heart, that they’ll live true to God and to the Holy Spirit, and to the principles of the Bible, regardless of what the rest of the world said.
