¶179–¶182 His coming, told the Spirit, of Isaiah. His coming, John’s coming, was predicted in the Scripture. Isaiah 40:3 said, “I’ll send My messenger before Me, prepare the way,” or, that was Malachi 3. Said…Malachi 3 said He would send His messenger before Him. The prophet, the last prophet, spoke of him. The last thing spoke of him. Remember, the last Book of the Old Testament spoke that Elijah would come to the children of Israel before the showing of the Messiah. Are you ready? The last Book in the Bible, the Revelation, shows us that there will be a return of him in the last day, to the Gentile church, a sign. How they miss it! He’s prophesied to come again, just before the great and the second Coming of the Lord. In Mal-…In Malachi the 4th chapter, in Revelation also, the 3rd chapter, tells us that he will be here in the last days. That same one, that’ll stand in the breach for the people, with a little flock that God will give him, he’ll come in the last days. God said so. He’ll be a sign to this Gentile nation, that her time is no more. And, remember, when he appears on the scene, the time is at hand. Let’s pray for God to send him. Time is at hand. As soon as his ministry was finished, Messiah showed Himself. As soon as this great one will come in the last days, will finish his ministry, the Messiah will show Himself. It’ll be so. The time is at hand, so we better pray. You better start praying.
¶183–¶187 His God-given sign to this age will prove to what he is. Everybody will know it. God will vindicate it. He’ll show signs and wonders like never been done on the earth, by it. I don’t mean jerking, shaking, and speaking in tongues. He’ll be backed with the Word of God, like this man was. Why? He was prophesied in coming, in Malachi 4 and Revelation 3, so he will come. There is nothing going to stop him; he’s coming. Amen. He’ll be here. Amen. Let the people fall on their face today and start crying out to God, and watch what happens. You’ll see him show up in power. Yes, sir. According to the Scripture, his sign-Message will be “the turning.” What will his…What will we know him to be? How will we know it’s the right one? You know, Israel asked that one time, over in Deuteronomy, 20th chapter…20th verse, I believe it is. He said, “How will we know that this will be the right one?” How do we know? God tells us we’ll know him. What will he do? “He’ll be turning the hearts of the children back to the original pentecostal Message at the beginning.” Oh, my! A sign that’s overlooked, the real sign, and they miss it. They always do. Back to the true Church, the true Message! He will stand alone against denomination, bold and fearless, with THUS SAITH THE LORD. He’ll compromise with no denomination. He’ll have nothing to do with any; pull no strings for nothing. He’ll be straight out on the Word, THUS SAITH THE LORD. God will vindicate his ministry with signs and wonders, great revealing of the Word, and bringing forth to the people. What a day is at hand! Like…He’ll stand like Peter and John did, after, on the Day of Pentecost. After Pentecost, that they had been filled with the Holy Ghost, baptized there, they stood in that Sanhedrin Court. They stood there with all the boldness that could be stood. When, they said, “We forbid you to teach in the Name of Jesus, anymore.”
¶241–¶242 Watch. Now, Malachi 4, let me read this. He’s going to come again. …behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea,… That’s today. I walk down the street and see these people. You can talk to them, and they laugh at you, make fun of you. I think, “What is it?” The other day, I was walking along, down, side of the square down here. I was talking to some people, and they just said, “Oh,” walked on. Something just said to me, “They’re atomic fodder, soon to be ashes scattered upon the ground. Let them alone. You’ve spoke your peace. Get ready and get out of here.” Hallelujah! I ought not have said that, I guess. “Get yourself ready. Gird up your loins. I’m calling you.” That’s the reason I’m waiting. For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; yea, all the proud,…and all that do wickedly, shall be as stubbles:… That’s exactly what will be. What happens when a great…some of you farmers; when a heavy fire hits a wheat field, when she’s just stubble? She just lays her flat, with ashes behind. That’s what will do, when that, when she strikes. …the day cometh that shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. There’ll be nothing left of them. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness rise with healing in his wings;…you shall go forth, and grow up as calves in the stall. (That’s the Millennium.) And you shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in that day that I will do this, saith the LORD of hosts. Coming out, in the Millennium. “The ashes of the wicked.” Remember…the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded…him in Horeb for all Israel, as the statute and judgment. Now, listen close now. Behold, I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of that great and dreadful day of the LORD:
¶243–¶245 Now, that could not have been John. It could not, because the world would have been destroyed then. But here He said, in Matthew 3, He sends a messenger before Him. And Jesus said, “That’s the Elijah that was to come, to prepare the way before Me.” “But before this great atomic bomb hits, I’ll send to you Elijah the prophet.” And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Prophesy, in this day. But now you say, “Oh, that Elijah, that was to be John.” The messenger of the covenant was John, truly. That’s exactly right. Jesus said so, and verified it right here, “That’s the one I spoke of.” But, you see, it couldn’t be the Elijah that was to come. See? It couldn’t be. Because, you see, if it would, then the prophecy was wrong; the earth wasn’t destroyed back there. See? “But before that great and terrible day of the Lord shall come, I’ll send to you Elijah. And he will restore,” watch his first coming, “the hearts of the fathers to the children.” That’s what he did, first, brought the message of the new dispensation, the coming of Christ now, pulling the old orthodox fathers away from that orthodox faith, into a new faith that had just been born. Then when he comes the second time, “And the hearts of the children back to the pentecostal fathers, the original Message.” Now get over here in Revelation 3, and you’ll see it right there again. So, it’s prophesied. We are at the end time, my brother. That’s right.

¶75–¶77 No, no, no, you’re…I wished that I could just have more time on that. See, see? The Bride, when She’s taken from the church, then the church age will cease. Laodicea goes into chaos; the Bride goes to Glory; and the tribulation period sets in upon the sleeping virgin for three and a half years while Israel is getting its prophecy; then tribulation sets in upon Israel; and then comes the battle of Armageddon which destroys all things. And then, the Bride returns back with the Groom for a thousand years, the Millennium reign; after that comes the White Throne Judgment; after that comes the New Heavens and New Earth and the New City coming down from God out of Heaven. Eternity and time blends together. 393. The Holy Spirit has told you that the Trumpets have nothing to do with the Bride. Do the Seven Vials have anything at all to do with us? I’ll wait and see if the Holy Spirit reveals it in that manner. I don’t know yet. 394. Will the prophet of Malachi 4 be the one to call out the Gentile remnant of Revelation 7:9, even though they go through the tribulation period? No, no! After the—the Revelation 7, is where he seen the hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, and after that he saw coming up, coming back was that great number which no man could number which was the Bride. It will have…The…Malachi 4 will be finished and the Bride taken up, and the…then the…this group of—of Elijah and Elisha return back to the earth for…The church to go through the tribulation period, but Elijah and Elisha will not have anything to do with the sleeping virgin (they’re Gentiles); they’ll be sent only to the Jews. 395. Have the Seven Thunders which equals seven mysteries already been revealed? Were they revealed in the Seven Seals, but are yet—but are yet not known to us as the Thunders yet?
¶152–¶156 I told you I’d answer that privately. You that’s got these questions, come to me privately. Dear Brother Branham, we have a teacher that you know that the Scripture say… Yeah, I got that. Just a minute now. Brother Branham, at one time we had our name put on the book of a certain… Yeah, I got that. It about how they had taken it off now, did they do wrong? 421. What…Would you endorse birth control? No, I can’t endorse it. No, sir. See? 422. It…Is the seventh angel, as spoken of, of Revelation 10, the same person as Elijah of Malachi 4? Did I answer that? That don’t sound like I answered that. Yes, it’s the same person. Revelation 10 is the seventh angel’s Message, which…seventh angel messenger of the Seventh Church Age, which is Malachi 4. Is birth control… I have a lot on that. I just throwed these back, and I—I didn’t want to answer; I’d rather see you privately. 423. Where do we find where Noah preached for a hundred and twenty years and built the ark in a hundred and twenty years? Did I answer that? A generation, or a lotted time, a man’s lotted time on earth was one hundred and twenty years, which took Noah, the period, to build the ark, which was considered a generation in that day. One hundred and twenty years was a man’s lotted time. And he preached, according… Genesis 6:3, he preached to that generation, which was one hundred and twenty years; Noah did. All right. Let’s see now. 424. In Malachi 4, this Elijah is to take the hearts of the father to the children, and then the hearts of the children to the fathers. Is this the same person?
¶157–¶160 Yes, the same person. All right. Oh, wait a minute. No! Pardon me, I’m sorry. Just…See the Holy Spirit catch that for me then? No! I thought it said the…See? What it was in Malachi 3, there, “I send My messenger before My face,” which was Elijah. In Malachi 4 it turns back around and said, “Behold I send Elijah.” Malachi 3, He was to take a messenger sent before the face of the Lord Jesus, which was John. How many understands that? Malachi 4, when this Elijah comes, immediately after his Message and things, and after, is the Coming of the Lord and the renewing of the earth. And you notice, to make it sure now that it’s not the…How the Holy Spirit wrote it by this prophet, He said, “He will turn the hearts of the fathers, first, to the children.” See? That was John’s first coming. He turned the hearts of the fathers, the old, patriarch fathers, to the Message of the children, which was the new generation then, Jesus, in that generation. Then and, conjunction, it tying together “the hearts of the children back to the fathers,” which mean, the Message of today will turn the hearts of the children in the church age back to the original Pentecostal faith of the beginning. So it will be two different…The one messenger, but it differentiates there the—the first coming and the second, of John… or the messenger, Elijah. My husband and my youngest son does not believe… Yeah, I got that. I know I did, because I know the person’s got their names signed there. I remember talking to them afterwards about it. 425. How can we find the will of the Lord? Our—our home to… Should we move our home to Jeffersonville, Indiana? Can a person be a Christian and dislike a colored people? Does God not want them to be treated like us, ’cause they are dark in color? Would you…? What do you suggest in this? Do you believe in integration or segregation?

¶40–¶42 And we hope to get the church up, so I can get these Church Ages in, before—before the winter sets in, if possible. If I don’t, or when I have to come back from over there, if the Lord Jesus tarries. I was listening yesterday when I was taking, believe it was day before yesterday, of a tape. I thought I heard it playing out here this morning. Some little Southern brother had…His mother had come into the meeting. She had a malignancy on her breast, and she was shadowed to death. And the Holy Spirit, in one of the recent meetings, at the Southern Pines, I believe it was, or somewhere, told her, said about her malignancy, and who she was, and where she come from. And said she had a boy that was a backslider, and he was going to have an accident, and be for manslaughter. And a whole lot of things like that. And this fellow… It all happened just the way. And her malignant cancer, or malignant growth, rather, left her. Which is, malignant growth is a cancer, you know. So then it—it left her. And the boy was up for manslaughter, and everything just the way the Holy Spirit said it. And he was led to Christ, back again. And he made a tape of it, and I—I heard it playing. Did you enjoy that little, old Southern talk? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] Said, “Down here in North Carolin’er,” he said. Oh, I just love that, them old Southern people. And he had…The Lord just blessed him on. He said, “I know you say you don’t preach doctrine, Brother Branham; only to your congregation.” Said, “We’re part of your congregation.” So that was right cute in him, to say that.
¶298–¶302 Directly, I noticed the people begin to get like they was physically hungry. And so they had enough spiritual, so they started walking away. And some of them [Brother Branham yawns—Ed.] started walking away. I thought, “What’s the matter with everybody?” And—and I looked, and here some young couples going along, to my side. I thought…I said, “Just a minute, friend! Just a minute! You’ll be back again when the evening shadows fall.” See? I said, “You’ll be back again. But let me give you this first climax. Where does all these things come from, that I’ve showed you? Where are they from?” I said, “Here they are. They are in the Word of God. They are THUS SAITH THE LORD, His promise. Cause,” I said, “all of you bear me record, witness this, that my commission is, ‘Stay with the Word.’” I said, “What’s the matter with all of you? Can’t you understand the Word? You must understand It.” And some of them said, “Man, I’d like to have some biscuits,” and so like that. Well, I just thought, “Well, glory to God! If they want biscuits, let them go get them.” So I—I turned around. I thought, “Oh, but, you know what? The shadows is going to fall, after while, right away.” I said, “Then, tonight, when that congregation gathers in again, I’ll put the climax to them, and told them that the things that they have seen me do is found in the Word of God, not in some mythical book or some organization. It’s found in the Word. See? Every bit of it, in the Word, ’cause I’m commissioned to That.”

¶101–¶104 Now, this is not…That’s Malachi 3, was the first coming, now here is the next coming. Even the Doctor Scofield here, I certainly don’t agree with him in his footnotes, but he’s got it lined out here right. “The commission of John,” to Malachi 3; and, “The second Coming of Christ,” and Elijah beforehands. All right. …all the proud shall burn up, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (Where’s the “Eternal” hell then?) But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness rise with healing campaigns, healing in his wings;…you shall go forth, and grow up; as calves of the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked;…they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in that day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. Remember…the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded…him in Horeb for all Israel,…the statutes and judgment. Here is the coming of Elijah. Behold, I will send to you Elijah the prophet… The last closing Scripture of the Old Testament! …I’ll send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of that great and dreadful day of the LORD: Now, that couldn’t been John. No. See, the world wasn’t burnt up and the righteous walked out on the wicked. See? No, no. …before the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to the fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
¶105–¶110 Notice the accuracy of the Holy Spirit, that It would not confuse them two comings of Elijah. Malachi 3, said, “Behold, I send My messenger before My face.” Jesus was asked about John; He said, “If you can receive it, this is who the prophet said, ‘I’ll send My messenger before My face.’ This is the Elias that was to come.” Malachi 3. Notice the Scripture so accurately gives it. Watch what this… to show the…them who wants to believe, them who wants to see. Remember, Jesus stopping in the middle of a Scripture, ’cause part of it was fulfilled then, the rest for His second Coming? “To preach the acceptable year of the Lord, bind up the brokenhearted,” and stopped; not “bring judgment to the Gentile” until His second Coming. Notice this Scripture here parallels that. “And he, Elijah, shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children.” (Now speaking of Malachi 4, not get it mixed, or Malachi 3.) John, Elijah, who came in the days before the first coming of Christ, turned the hearts of the old patriarch fathers to the message of the children, the new message. Now watch. “And the hearts of the children to the fathers.” In his second coming, in the last days, he turns back to the apostolic Faith again. See how perfect the Scriptures line up? That was the end of the Old Testament, the Old Testament. Now we see there’s Light in the evening time. What is It? It’s the top, Mount Treetop. As I said this morning, we’ve come up through denominations, through (not a orange tree) like I spoke of this morning, but we’ve had grapefruit, lemons, all kinds of other things that wasn’t like the beginning at all. But after…Don’t miss It. Here It comes. After all the denominations has played out, they didn’t have any Light to begin with, there’ll be a day that can’t be called day or night.
Chunks:
¶131–¶134 I was reading in the Scriptures the other day up in the mountain. I was reading there, and I…the Holy Spirit told me, go up to a certain tree and stand there, He wanted to speak to me. I stood there for a half hour, He never said nothing. I laid down under this oak tree, and laid myself out, I said, “Lord, You spoke to me about a mile up here, and said come up here on the mountain here in this Sportsman’s Hollow, as I called it, You’ll speak to me.” Then He showed me, when He opened up Malachi, the 4th chapter. And I said…“Behold the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven, burn up the proud,” if you want to put it down, Malachi 4, and He said, “it shall burn the proud. And the—and the righteous shall walk out upon the ashes of the wicked.” Well, then, and He said, “Behold, I send to you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come. It shall…And he’ll turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the children of the—the fathers, or, the children’s hearts to the fathers.” Well, I said, “That was right, I believe that.” Jesus said when the disciples asked Him that, they said, “Well, why did the,” when He was claiming to be the Messiah, said, “Why does the scribes say that Elias must first come?” Jesus said, “He’s already come, and you didn’t know him.” And then they understood that He spoke of John the Baptist. How many ever heard that? Well, my, you all read the Bible. John the Baptist, but remember, that wasn’t the Elijah that He spoke of, of the last days, ’cause the world never burnt and the Millennium set in.
¶135–¶138 Watch the Scripture, watch the reading of it, turn to Malachi 4 just a minute, watch there. I never knew that before. I never try to speak anything until the Holy Spirit comes, first, to reveal it. Watch, Malachi 4:5: Behold, I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great…day of the LORD: (That great, terrible day that He’ll burn the earth.) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to the fathers,… Watch, the first time Elijah come, he turned the hearts of the fathers, the old, patriarch fathers, see, back there, the old Jews, to the faith of the children that had just received Him, and believed of the coming Messiah. “Turned the hearts of the fathers to the children, and,” a conjunction, tying the sentence together, “when He comes the second time, the hearts of the children back to the Pentecostal fathers.” Hallelujah! There you are. So how can the evening Light be anything but back to Acts again? Right. When He said before that day comes, that will burn the earth like an oven and the righteous will walk out upon their ashes. Oh, brother, we are looking for a Light to come, It’s here. And remember, when this Elijah comes, I’ll give you some of his description, when Elijah comes, that’s the messenger to the Laodicean Church Age. We find Elijah coming before…Remember, Elijah was the one that went up on a chariot, never tasted death, And the Message of this great messenger that’ll come in this closing day in the Laodicean Church Age, the Pentecostal age, will be the One that will take the Church to the Rapture. Exactly. He was raptured himself, and he’ll come with the Church to the Rapture.
Chunks:
¶65b–¶67 Here, You’re already here, and the scribes said that—that Elias would come first. Now, watch: And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall come, shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and you knew him not, (See, He didn’t say who he was, see.) but have done unto him whatsoever ye listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. And the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist. (Now—now, John the Baptist was the Elias that was to come.) Now watch, I get back to Malachi the 4th chapter, again. Now remember, He said here that “Before the great and noble, terrible Day of the Lord shall come, I will send to you Elijah the prophet.” The 5th verse: But I will send unto you…the prophet…I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the…[Congregation says, “LORD.”—Ed.] What do we find “in the Lord’s Day”? At the end of the age! That’s when the world is going to be burned. You remember how we took Him with a white wig on, you know, and—and His breast, and girded about the paps. You remember that? And we proved by the Bible, it wasn’t a sabbath day neither a Sunday, it was the Lord’s Day. Is that right? And that’s the day that He comes as a Judge, “And will smite the earth with a curse.” Is that right? And I will send to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
¶74–¶76 Now, we also find that has…in His first coming wasn’t at the Day of the Lord. Is that right? Now, back to Malachi, let’s straighten this out first, “Coming at the Day of the Lord.” Now, watch His compound coming, His one coming and His second. Have you got your spiritual thinking ready? 6th verse now, “He shall…” …He will send…Elijah…before…the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (Is that right?) Now, we realize that that wasn’t John, ’cause it wasn’t the dreadful Day of the Lord (was it?), and He…neither did He burn the earth. So it must’ve meant a preview, or—or another future coming of John… or of—of Elijah. Is that right? ’Cause He said, “I’ll send Elijah, and I’m going to burn the whole earth, and I’m going to just clean it off, and you’ll walk out upon their ashes.” That’s the Millennium, we know that. After the atomic bomb shall blow it from pieces, then there’ll be…the earth will straighten up. And there’ll be a great Day here on the earth, and the Church will reign with Jesus on the earth for a thousand years. Is that right? “But before that great and dreadful Day of the Lord, when it’s going to be blowed up, I’ll send to you Elijah the prophet.” Is that right? So it did not mean John the Baptist in that state, because the dreadful Day of the Lord wasn’t then, two thousand years off. Is that right? Now, watch the next verse. And if you’ll be real spiritual now; now, this is a love letter, and you have to read between the lines and then it’s made right. You know what I mean. Remember how I said, the Scripture, “Jesus thanked God because He had hid It from the wise (of the eyes) and prudent, revealed It to babes.” Now, I’ve often illustrated about my wife when she writes me a letter; I can see what’s she’s saying on the letter, but I read between the lines to know what she means, see, because I love her and I—I know her nature. And you have to know God’s nature and love Him, then the Scriptures stand right out to you. He reveals It.
Chunks:
¶94–¶98 Cause, prophets don’t come out of such things as that. They come from the rugged lands, the wilderness. No man knows where they come from, or how they arise on the scene, or any of their history. They just come right out and preach the Word, and God takes them off, and away they go; condemns that generation, and moves on into His Word, waiting for the great day. The church did not believe him, because he was not known of them. They had no record of his ordination on their books, so therefore they refused him. See, they didn’t believe God’s vindicated Word, plainly, letter by letter. See? Malachi 3, two Scriptures to vindicate him, Malachi 3 and Isaiah 40:3. See, both those Scriptures spoke of a man coming, preparing the way of the Lord. He met every specification of it. He was to be a prophet. “I’ll send to you Elisha.” And there he was, in every rugged way. Watch how his nature blended in with Elijah. Elijah was a man of the wilderness, so was John; the outdoors. He wasn’t a smooth man, he was a rugged man. Notice again, Elijah was a woman hater, he told Jezebel about all of her paint, and where to get on and off at. So was John. Jezebel tried to kill Elijah, swore by her gods that she’d take his head off of him. So did Herodia. See? Always watch their message, watch what they did. Now we find out that if they would a looked back and seen what the Bible said, and watched the nature of the man and how perfect he was in time with the Scriptures and everything, they ought to have knowed that was him. About a half a dozen knew it. That’s right. Not over a half a dozen realized it. They went to hear him, but they didn’t believe It. See? Why? They did not believe the identification of prophecy in their hour.
¶129–¶130 Friends, this is the fulfillment of Malachi 4, Saint Luke 17, Saint John 15, oh, so many, Revelation 10, so many prophecies that can be pinned exactly to this day. And also in the Book of Mark and in Matthew, where He said these great signs and wonders would appear in the sky, and people call them saucers, flying saucers, can—can vanish with the power and quickness of a thought, intelligence that can move in. He can write, He can speak, He can do whatever He wants to. The great Pillar of Fire, “the same yesterday, today, and forever.” And sights coming upon the earth, pyramids of smoke rising into the air, way above where there cannot be no humidity nor nothing, thirty miles high. Predicted a year and a half before it happened, that it would be that way. Then turn the picture and see Who it is looking down. Not one Word has ever failed that’s been told, and here is God’s written Word, confirming it’s the Truth. And it’s evening time again. I wonder if He would return, by grace, tonight and do something now like He done back there. Let’s pray and ask Him. Events made clear by vindicated prophecy. God Almighty, help us. Help us, dear God, to understand, to understand the things that we should know, understand Thy Word. And now, Lord, we have heard sermons now for nearly two thousand years, writings of books. And in this last days here it’s slipped right back again, and now it’s towards evening time. The Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, and many of them down through the age has talked with You, and maybe just along the way of this great day that hasn’t been either night or day, as the prophet said, but in the evening time it’ll be Light. Jesus rose from the tomb and appeared to Simon and to the women, and showed them that He was alive. That was the morning. And then in evening He come back again. But He did walk to them through the day, rebuking them for their blindness, but then He made Hisself known to them in the evening time.
